报告摘要:
In this talk, I will provide an overview of nanophotonics, a thriving field concerning light-matter interactions at the nanometer scale. The resolution of conventional optics is restricted by the diffraction effect, limited to about half wavelength of light. Plasmonic nanostructures can beat the diffraction limit by exploiting the optical near fields. This has profound impacts in many areas, including super-resolution optical imaging, lithography, data storage, energy harvesting and molecular sensing. I will present fundamentals of plasmonics and examples of a few major applications.
